COLLABORATION AWARD

WOMEN WORKING WITH WOMEN

Collaboration Award

Presented by the
New York Coalition of Professional Women
in the Arts & Media, Inc.

2010 GUIDELINES

Goal: The Collaboration Award: Women Working With Women is designed to encourage professional women in the arts and media to work collaboratively with women from other arts and media specializations on the creation of new work.

What: The award honors successful collaborations among women from different specializations in the arts and media. An award of $1000 will be made to one winning collaborative team. Two other teams will be honored with a Certificate of Achievement. Eligible teams are those collaborating on a new work, a completed work or a work-in-progress. Winning collaborative teams will be invited to an event celebrating the awards.

Those Eligible: Two or more women working together on a creative project may apply for the 2010 Collaboration Award. Each member of the applicant team must be a member of a Coalition organization. (See list below, under Sponsor.) The aim of the award is to encourage women to work with members of other unions and guilds. Applicants on each team shall be members of two or more different guilds, unions or associations.

Collaboration Review Committee members, Coalition Board members or past Board members who have served since 2008 are not eligible to apply for the award.

Criteria: Applicants may suggest any form of creative collaboration on a new work: a proposed work, an existing work or a work-in-progress. Applications shall be judged on artistic excellence, clarity of proposal, likelihood of completion, and diversity in background and artistic endeavor. All topics and subjects will be considered. Special attention shall be given to those proposals which reflect the goals of the Coalition: to advance women's work and women's issues.

How: Applicants must fill out a two-page application form. Applications may be downloaded from the Coalition web site: www.nycwam.org. Address Collaboration Award questions to: collaborationawards@gmail.com

Send completed applications to NYCWAM, P.O. Box 2537, New York, NY 10108. Attn: Collaboration Awards.
